IDAs and Oregon’s Prosperity

The Oregon IDA Initiative is a proven approach to building household financial resilience. The Initiative creates pathways of opportunity for Oregonians with low incomes in every corner of the state. Individuals enroll with an Initiative Partner and develop both a goal for saving and a plan for making the most of their IDA.

IDAs are an important tool in the toolbox to build household financial resilience. Initiative partners are engaged in their communities with a wide range of activities, partners, and approaches, and they find that IDAs provide an extra measure of impact to support participant success.

The evaluations of the Initiative as well as national research demonstrate the effectiveness and impact of IDAs in stabilizing households and communities. IDAs are currently one of just a few tools targeted at building the assets of Oregonians with low incomes.
